Disclaimer whozamawhazit: Like most of the stories on my page, I do not own any of these characters, just borrowing them for the moment. Sega, Archie and DiC can have them right back, we just wanted to play for a bit. Not making any money in the process of doing so, in fact it's costing me many hours of frustration learning the programs for you to be able to read them on the web. Okay! I love you! Bye-bye! Little Flying Two TailsBy Icka! M. Chif "All right. Into bed you go and I'll tell you a story." Sally said as Tails climbed into bed. It was a nightly ritual for them. She always found time to tell Tails a bed time story, no matter how hectic things were. It often served to help her relax and put things in perspective. Life wasn't always about fighting, but it wasn't a fairey tale either. "A new one, Aunt Sally?" Tails begged, climbing under the covers. "But no mushy stuff." He made a face. "Right. No mushy stuff." She nodded, smiling as she took her usual seat next to him on the bed. Tails was still under the age old impression that girls had cooties. Now, what to tell him... An idea hit her and she began her story. "Once upon a time, there lived a little fox named 'Little Flying Two Tails', because he two tails that he could fly with." "Like me!" Tails piped up. "Exactly." Sally smiled at the fox cub. "Now Little Flying Two Tails lived in a small village named Knothole in the Great Forest. Now one day, Little Flying Two Tail's Aunt, Aunt Bunnie, asked Little Flying Two Tails to deliver a message to their Uncle Chuck, who lived on the out skirts of Robotropolis. Little Flying Two Tails was more than happy to, he liked seeing his Uncle Chuck. So he spun those two tails of his together and flew off toward Robotropolis. While crossing the Vast Unknown, some evil SWATbots saw Little Flying Two Tails flying toward Robotropolis and took off after him. Little Flying Two Tails led them on a merry chase, trying to escape from them. Unfortunately, there were just to many SWATbots, and though he managed to destroy some of them, the SWATbots caught Little Flying Two Tails and took him to their master, a dark and evil man named Robotnik." "Ro-BUTT-nik" Tails corrected firmly. "Right. Robuttnik. Now Robuttnik liked to turn people into mindless robots to do his bidding. And he hated Little Flying Two Tails and his family, the Freedom Fighters. So he decided on a dastardly plot, he'd turn Little Flying Two Tails into a robot to force the Freedom Fighters out of hiding." "Oh, no." Tails said wide-eyed. "Oh, yes! But what Robuttnik didn't know was that Little Flying Two Tails' big brother, Sonic the Hedgehog, had decided he was bored and had gone to Robotropolis to stir up some excitement." Tails laughed, bouncing up and down a bit on the bed. "That's Sonic all right!" "Yep." Sally tucked Tails into bed again, calming him down a bit. After all, the purpose of a bed time story was to get him to fall asleep faster, not get him worked up. "Now while Sonic was running around getting SWATbots to chase him, he ran across his Uncle Chuck who asked him if he had seen Little Flying Two Tails, who was supposed to be giving him a message. When Sonic didn't know where Little Flying Two Tails was, they became concerned and decided to check it out. Now Little Flying Two Tails didn't want to be turned into a robot, so he was being very brave and trying to delay being turned into a robot. He turned to Robuttnik, who was standing next to the roboticizer. "So, ah... gee, what big hands you have..." Little Flying Two Tails stammered at Robuttnik. "The better to crush you and the rest of your pathetic little Freedom Fighters!" Robuttnik boomed. Tails gasped as she did her Robuttnik impression, clutching the blankets to his chin staring at her with wide eyes. "And, uh, what big robots you have!" Little Flying Two Tails continued. "The better to do my bidding with." Robuttnik snarled as the SWATbots dragged him forward to the roboticizer. Little Flying Two Tails swallowed, a bit scared, but not going to show it to Robuttnik. "And what big machines you have!" "The better to Robotize you with!" Robuttnik laughed as his SWATbots threw Little Flying Two Tails into the roboticizer. Just then Sonic came flying out of one of the many chutes that chris-cross Robuttnik's fortress. In a 'Sonic Second', he had all the SWATbots torn into spare parts. "Not this time!" He laughed at Robuttnik as he grabbed Little Flying Two Tails and dashed out of there before Robuttnik could come up with a comeback. "We'd hafta wait an extra long time for Robuttnik to come up with a comeback!" Tails giggled. She giggled back. "Right. So, Sonic and Little Flying Two Tails grabbed Uncle Chuck, who was waiting for them in the chute, and ran out of Robuttnik's Fortress just before the explosives that Uncle Chuck had planted while Little Flying Two Tails had been stalling blew up, destroying the Roboticizer Lab. "Yeah!" Tails cheered, bouncing up and down on the bed again. "Take that, Dr. Robuttnik!" Sally waited for Tails to calm down a bit before continuing on with the story. "So, Little Flying Two Tails gave the message to Uncle Chuck, who was very happy to get it, and then headed home with Sonic." "And lived happily ever after?!" Tails asked. "Well," She smiled "To fight Robuttnik another day." Tails pondered it for a moment. "Cool." She smiled and tucked him into bed again. "Good night Tails. Sweet dreams." "You too Aunt Sally." She leaned over and gave him a good night kiss before standing up and turning off the light. Tails rolled over and fell asleep almost immediately. She smiled at him. Tails really was a sweet kid. One of these days he'd outgrow the bedtime stories though. Hopefully that wouldn't be for a few more years. Until then, she'd just have to enjoy this. She stepped outside, closing the door behind her and nearly bumped right into Sonic. "How long have you been standing there?" She asked, startled. He smiled at her with that infuriating smug look of his. "Most of the story." She crossed her arms and glared at him, wondering what he was up to. It was rare that Sonic stood still for very long, much less for a story. His smile turned sheepish. "I wanted to know if you wanted to go for a walk or something." He offered. She smiled at him, taking his arm. "I'd love to." He perked up, grinning at her like she had just made his day. One didn't always live happily ever after, but sometimes, that was okay. Fin.
