Xellos smiled to himself from his perch in a tree. In the distance, he could see Lina Inverse and company walking along. From the looks of it, Good Ol' Jellyfish for brains was about to find himself knocked unconscious again. He giggled. They really were so much fun.

"What'cha doin'?" A cheerful voice inquired from below him, nearly knocking him off his perch. He looked down. It was a blonde haired toddler dressed in a pair of overalls.

"I'm spying on some humans." He smiled.

The girl blinked, grinning back up at him. "Why?"

"That's a secret." He replied, giving her a wink.

The girls expression didn't change. "Why?"

"That's also a secret."

"Why?"

Xellos gave a small mental sigh. The girl must be part Mazoku, that was the only explanation he could think of. "It's a secret."

The girl appeared to ponder this over for a second. Then she grinned up at him. "Okay! I luv you! Bye-byie!" She waved up at him.

He wiggled his fingers at her as she turned and skipped off into the distance.

He was just about to turn his attention back to Lina and company when a large brown dog in a panic came charging through the brush. It paused underneath him, then ran off after the girl. A second later, there was a large crash, followed by a yelp and the girl's giggle. "Silly Buttons." Echoed out of the brush.

Xellos smiled, turning his attention back to the group, who was just starting to pound Gourry. The girl was a bit annoying, he reflected, but he liked the dog okay.
