didn't need to explain the Birds and the Bees to Zelgadiss, Rezo had already
told him.
Rezo Explains
by Icka! M. Chif
A loud howl from outside disrupted the lesson. Everyday since his transformation, Zelgadiss sat down with the Red Priest and learned what ever his Great Grandfather felt like teaching him that day.
Today's lesson was about it was about stuft animals. Zelgadiss was grateful for the interruption.
"What is going on out there?" Rezo asked. The teenage chimera eagerly stood up and peered out the window.
"There are two dogs out there." He reported.
"And what are they doing to cause such a fearful racket?" Rezo inquired, a look of mild distaste on his face.
Zelgadiss blushed. "They're, uh, mating..."
"Ah." Rezo nodded, composing his face into the expressionless mask again. "Sit down, Zelgadiss. I think it's time for another lesson."
Fortunately for Zelgadiss, his great-grandfather was blind and missed the grimace of distaste. "Yessir." He dutifully sat down again.
"Now. Where does honey come from?" Rezo asked calmly.
Zelgadiss blinked. What a strange question. "Bees-?" He ventured, wondering for the n-th time if the old man had flipped.
Rezo nodded, looking pleased. "And where do we get eggs?"
"Chickens-?"
"And what are chickens?"
"Scientifically, or in general?"
"General will do."
"They're birds. Fairly stupid ones at that."
"Very good. That will do for today's lesson. I hoped you learned something and we won't have to repeat this lesson. You may report to Eris for dinner now." With that proclamation, Rezo rose and left the room.
Zelgadiss scratched his head as he rose. He didn't mind the lessons so much, most of it was useful things to know, but occasionally the priest was just... strange.
With a good natured shrug, he headed downstairs to the kitchen where Eris was busy overseeing today's meal.
Eris spared him a quick look. "Lessons over?" She inquired upon spotting him.
"Yeah." He nodded, walking over to retrieve his favourite coffee cup. "He should be heading toward the lab now."
She nodded, pleased with the news. She'd be taking Rezo's dinner down to him shortly. "What did you learn today?"
"Nothing important." He shrugged, headed for the coffee pot. "Just a bit about the birds and the bees."
