Disclaimer: After seeing Rurouni Kenshin dubbed for the first time, I was shocked at how monotone his voice was. The idea came to me that it could use a bit of sprucing up...

The red-haired rurouni glared at his opponents with a cool steely eyed gaze. His sword rested loosely in one hand as he stood in the open doorway, watching the others shift in surprise.

"I'm afraid I can't let you do that." He said softly, speaking in a low monotone. "I may not care for the title of Battousai, but I will not allow someone else to plagiarize it." Lightening flashed and the Rurouni charged forward into battle.

"Stop."

Instantly, Kenshin paused in his tracks and looked at his temporary sensei.

"One must wait for the lightening to strike at thy name, as it the heavens hast opened at the mere mention of one's noble name."

Kenshin absorbed this fact and nodded. "Hai."

"And how many times, must I tell you to loose the monotone at the high point of the speech?" The young man raised his bokken. "I am Kuno Tatewaki, age 17. But you may call me-" Lightening flashed and his voice changed from a pleasant low rumble to a roar to match the weather phenomenon "-The Blue Thunder of Furinkan High!"

As quickly as the dramatic pose had come, it faded. "See?" Kuno inquired.

Kenshin nodded. "Hai."

Kuno nodded as well. "Good. Now try it again."
