"Inuyasha? You're awful quiet today. Is everything okay?" Kagome asked, concern colouring her grey eyes as she pedaled her bike beside him.

Inuyasha blinked, coming out of his thoughts. "Yeah. Just thinking." He muttered, looking away from the girl.

Shippou snorted from his perch in the front of the bike. Kagome didn't seem to notice.

"What about? You looked pretty serious there for a moment."

He flinched inwardly. "Nothing." Inuyasha growled, feeling irritated. "Sense any shards nearby?"

From the basket, Shippou muttered something under his breath, too quiet for him to hear. He would have reached over an bopped the kit, but Kagome spoke before he could.

"Not yet. Don't worry. You'll be the second person to know." She informed him.

"Second?!" He bristled. "Who's the first?!"

Kagome smiled at him, the simple action brightening her whole face. "Me, of course." She let out a small giggle, delighting in teasing him a bit.

"Oh." Inuyasha fell silent once more, returning to his thoughts.
