Pink?

Light pink, Kagome decided as she watched Inuyasha walk ahead of their little troop. Definitely a light pink, almost a blush colour.

Shippou, getting bored, jumped on to Inuyasha's shoulder and made some comment about what Inuyasha was probably thinking about. Inuyasha got mad and bopped the kitsune.

Rose, Kagome thought, tilting her head to the side. A bit on the dusky side. Still, a rather nice colour.

Getting an idea, she dropped back a bit to ride along side Sango and Miroku. "Hey, what colour is Inuyasha's cloak?" She whispered, hoping Inuyasha wouldn't hear.

Sango gave her a bit of a funny look before replying. "Pink. Same as always. Why?"

Kagome pondered this. "Keep that in mind." She said, her eyes twinkling mischievously. She raised her voice a bit. "I'm going to have to go home for-"

Up a head, Inuyasha stopped in his tracks. "What?!"

Kagome silently braced herself as Inuyasha then proceeded to throw what could only be called a temper tantrum, aimed in her general direction. It took quite a bit of control for her not to laugh as he cursed, waved his arms in the air and generally made himself as big, loud and obnoxious as he possibly could.

"You did that on purpose, didn't you?" Miroku deadpanned, looking like he was wishing for some ear plugs. Either that or he could bop Inuyasha with the staff.

She nodded. "Yep. What colour is his cloak now?" She asked.

"Reddish." Sango replied, looking confused.

Kagome smiled. That's what she had thought. "Inuyasha!" She called, tugging on one of the strands of hair that framed his face as he tried to get in her face to curse. "Would you listen?!" She snapped, gaining his attention. He finally stopped long enough that she let go of the hair.

"Not for another two or three weeks." She finished. "I'm gonna start running low on ramen soon and need to stock up."

The fight left the half deamon. "That wasn't funny." He snarled, stalking back up to the trail to sulk.

Shippou popped up, hopping into the basket on the front. "What was that about, Kagome-chan?" He inquired, curious.

She smiled. "What colour is Inuyasha's cloak?"

Shippou scratched his head. "Magenta?"

She nodded. "What colour was it before?"

"Pink the first time you asked." Sango promptly replied.

"Then red." Miroku added. "When he got angry..."

Kagome broke into a huge grin as what she had been thinking caught up to her friends. "It's a giant mood ring!" She laughed.

Fin.

Well, that's one explanation for it always changing colour. Actually, the Voices just wanted Inuyasha to throw a temper tantrum….
