Disclaimer: This happened to me. :P Hence the weird factor. Phones and BathsBy Icka! M. Chif "Ahhh..." Kagome let out a sigh as she sank into the warm bath water. Finally, it was so good to have a chance to rela- *bring-bring* Kagome let out a small curse that she shouldn't have known but picked up from the Warring States anyway. Her family was out, so answering the phone was up to her. She quickly wrapped a towel around her and went to answer the phone. "Moshi moshi." Kagome chirped, trying not to drip on the floor. "When are you coming home?" Inuyasha's voice growled over the phone line. "Inuyasha?!" She gasped. "What are you doing on the phone?" "Some human left one outside the small shrine. Simple enough to operate." There was a small mumble about several attempts, but she decided to ignore it. "I'll be out as soon as I finish my bath." She said firmly. At least he had learned not to drag her off to his time when she was in the middle of a bath. "Fine. See you then." The line went dead and she hung up. "Finally." She sighed again, sinking into the warm water. *Bring-bring* Kagome groaned and climbed out of the bathtub again and padded over to the phone. "Moshi moshi?" "Gomen. Wrong number." The phone went dead. Kagome stared at the phone. How strange. She went and got back into the bath again. "Fin-" *Bring-bring* Kagome got out of the water again and tromped over to the phone, her towel slipping slightly. "Moshi moshi?" "Moshi moshi! Nekohanten Ramen. Shampoo calling to double check order for 15 chilled ramen?" "Um, no... I'm afraid no one here has ordered any food." "Oh." There was a pause. "Aya! Stupid Mousse write down wrong number! Shampoo sorry for inconvience!" "It's okay. Ja." She hung up and headed back into the bathroom. She had just has one foot in the water when- *Bring-bring* "Argh! The phone is out to get me!" She said exasperated as she went to get the phone again. This time she didn't even bother to wrap the towel completely around her. "Moshi mosh..." The phone was dead. Kagome glared at the phone in her hand. "You're doing this just to annoy me, aren't you?" The phone, of course, did not answer. She set it down and turned to go back to the bath. She hadn't gotten two steps when- *Bring-Bri-* "Moshi moshi?" "Hi! Are you happy with your long distance carrier?" The annoyingly cheerful sales person asked. "It's not nearly long enough." She muttered to herself before raising her voice to more polite tones. "I'm sorry, but I don't make those decisions for my household. Ja!" She hung up the phone. Kagome crossed her arms and glared at it again. "Well?" She demanded. "I'm waiting." The phone did not ring. Kagome let out a sigh. Of course it wouldn't. She turned and walked back into the baths. She stuck her foot in and paused. No ring. Good enough. She slid into the tub and set around to relaxing. Several blissful minutes of silence passed when it happened again. *Bring-Bring* Kagome muttered even more words she should not have known, much less the meanings to them and got out of the tub. "Moshi moshi." "Moshi moshi. Um, is Sota there?" A soft young hesitant voice asked from the phone. She sighed. "No, he's out with Mom and Grandpa. You can call back tomorrow." "Um. Okay. Thanks. Bai-bai!" The phone went dead in her hand. Kagome rolled her eyes and set the receiver down. *Bring-bring* "I haven't even let go of the phone!" She snarled, picking up again. "You're never going to finish your bath if you keep answering the phone." Inuyasha informed her before she could even say hello. "ARRGHHHH!!! SIT!" She shouted. Outside, she hear the familiar 'Thud!' of the dog boy kissing the earth. This was followed by the equally familiar various cursings, some of which she had uttered not too long before. She slammed down the phone and stalked back to the bath. "That is IT! I'm not answering the phone anymore tonight!" She growled between clenched teeth. She threw her towel into a corner of the room instead of hanging it up and sank into the now luke warm water with a resolved sigh. *Bring-bring!* Kagome submerged her head under the water. If she couldn't hear it, she couldn't answer it... Fin. |
