Enough Already!
By Icka! M. Chif
Sally Po was not having a good day. Normally she could handle that and still be courteous to a fault. However, the incident with the toaster oven, hair spray and a stuft animal panda had sent her over the edge. She didn't quite have a battle aura yet, but anyone with the slightest inkling of self preservation went running for the hills, or at least out of her eyesight.
Which was really a shame, she really wanted to tear someone's head off.
Which is why when she glimpsed Preventers Wind and Fire hidden behind a pillar talking, a bit of persistent frustration came to the fore and quietly snapped.
"Zechs!" She snapped, her voice startling them like a grenade going off. "Take that stupid helmet of yours, sell it for scrap and buy a frickin' clue!!! Stop making goo-goo eyes at each other and just ask her already!!! Gah!!!"
With one final arm waving, she continued her storm down the hall, leaving the two Preventers staring after her in silent shock.
They'd been talking about which people were going to be off the duty roster for the next couple of days because of food poisoning in the cafeteria due to a strange incident earlier in the morning. No one was really quite sure how the stuft panda had gotten there in the first place.
And both Zechs and Noin were -quite- sure that neither of them had been making 'goo-goo eyes' while talking about it.
Zechs was the first to break the stunned silence by clearing his throat. "So, uh... Would you like to...?" He trailed off, looking like he just waiting for a large gun to come out of no-where and blast him into oblivion.
Noin tilted her head to the side, giving the matter a bit of thought as he sweated. "Does it involve mechs self destructing?" She finally asked.
"I'm pretty sure it doesn't."
"Okay."
Zechs nearly gave an audible sigh of relief as Noin gave him a slight smile.
The ramifications of what this meant filtered through their minds as they smiled at each other. Gundam Pilots, Zechs' sister and various Preventers, not to mention who ever else decided to crash...
"Maybe we should elope..." Zechs mused.
Noin, who had reached a similar conclusion, nodded. Their friends would kill them later. But that would be later. "What time are you free?"
"I'm free tonight."
"Good. How is about 6 sound?"
"I'll handle the preparations."
"Nothing too fancy please." Noin raised an eyebrow, smirking slightly. "We should probably try to be discrete."
"Of course." He had the grace to grin at the slight jab. "I'll see you then."
"Wouldn't miss it for the world."
That settled, they gave each other a crisp nod and continued on their appointed tasks.
Several minutes later, when they both thought the other was out of earshot, the building was rocked by twin whoops of joy.
Which did nothing to improve Sally Po's foul mood.
