Ghostbusters Blanket Scenario

By Icka! M. Chif

His nose was cold, was the first thing Egon Spengler realised as he slowly drifted to consciousness. The rest of him was nice and toasty warm, but his nose was cold.

Frowning slightly, he raised a hand and rubbed it. Which brought him to his second realization of the day. It wasn't just his nose that was cold. It was the air. He could vaguely make out his breath freezing as he exhaled, a white blur against a coloured blur. He brought his hand back into the warmth of the blanket and snuggled in.

This lead to his third, and probably most disturbing realization of the morning.

There was someone else under the blanket.

"MMmmmmmm..." A warm body shifted behind him, draping an arm over his torso as someone cuddled up to him. "Egon..." The breath that tickled his ear was familiar, feminine.

Janine.

"Thanks again for staying with me tonight." She murmured, the arm around him tightening in a hug.

His fog filled brain slowly filled him back in on the details of where he was.

He had driven her home late last night only to find the power had gone out of Janine's apartment complex. She only had a large comforter besides a now un-useable electric blanket to keep her warm that night.

And it was the middle of one of the worst blizzards in a long time.

He would have tried to take her back to the Firehouse to spend the night, but they very short on blankets do to an incident involving Slimer, the toaster oven and laundry day. Not to mention the fact that it was highly unlikely that he would have been able to get back at all due to the snow.

So he had made the logical choice to spend the night to keep each other warm.

"You're quite welcome." He slurred back. He should probably get back to the Firehouse, the guys might be worried about him.

But he was warm and oh-so-comfortable.

He'd get up later, his last thought before drifting off to sleep again.

Fin.
