Disclaimer: The Ghostbusters belong to Sony and all
their perspective peoples, the same goes to Ru-Paul, her songs and the Girl
Scouts of America. I am making no money off of this (ha! As if I could!) and
mean no disrespect for borrowing them. (Heck, I was a Girl Scout for many
years!) The voices wouldn't shut up again. Thanks!
PranksBy Icka! M. Chif Round 1"Garrett, *what* are you doing?" Kylie asked, seeing Garrett parked out outside of the upstairs bathroom, listening to what looked like a walkman. She was kind of leery of Garrett parked outside of closed doors anymore, it usually meant trouble. He held a finger to his lips, motioning for quiet. She stopped, crossing her arms and stared at him, waiting. After a second, he motioned her over. With a sigh and a 'why me' look, she walked over. "Eddie's in the shower." Garrett smirked. "So?" He held up a small black box with a tape moving inside it. "I'm testing Roland's recorder." "And what does that have to do with Eduardo taking a shower?" She demanded. Garrett grinned at her. "He's singing." "What?!" Garrett took out one of the ear plugs he had and passed it to her, motioning for her to listen to it. She hesitated a moment, then put it in her ear. Eduardo's voice came in over the sound of the water running. It was all she could do not to start laughing as soon as she heard him ad-libbing to a familiar song. "-I study nuclear science, I kinda like my classes I've got a job waiting for my graduation Well I'm heavenly blessed and worldly wise I study nuclear science, I kinda like my classes Both she and Garrett were having a hard time catching their breath by the time Eduardo finished the song from trying not to laugh out loud. Part of her brain was scolding her for doing this, but she ignored it. There was a pause inside the bathroom and both she and Garrett tried to hold their breath. The door suddenly opened, making both of them jump. Eduardo stood there dripping wet, holding a towel around his waist. He did not look happy. "Uh, fancy running into you here, Eduardo." She said, the words out of her mouth before she realized what she was saying. Eduardo's eyes widened to almost comic proportions as he stared at her. "Run!" Garrett shouted, taking off. The ear plug fell from her ear as she took off after him. They ran into the relative safety of the elevator before breaking up laughing. "That was great!" Garrett cheered. "I'll turn you into a practical joker yet!" "Yeah, right." She playfully hit him on the back of the head, messing up his hair. "What'd you want the recording for anyway?" "Are you kidding?!" Garrett exclaimed in wide eyed innocence. "Black mail material! He's not gonna be able to live this one down for weeks!" Kylie stared at Garrett for a second, then shook her head. "Remind me never to sing in the shower here." "Aw, you don't have ta worry about that." Garrett assured her as he hit the down button. "I wouldn't do something like that to you, Ky." "Thanks." She sighed, leaning against the wall for a second. "Anytime." He grinned. The elevator reached the bottom and he rolled out. "You want to go see if Roland's done working the remote controlled camera?" "Thanks anyway." She had some school work left to do yet. Garrett nodded and with a quick wave, headed outside to Roland's workshop. Still smiling, she walked over to her book bag and started pulling out books. A thought concerning Garrett, remote controlled cameras, her and showers suddenly came to the fore and she quickly straightened. "Waitaminute! GARRETT!!!"
Round two"Ahhh..." Roland stepped out of the bathroom, scrubbing absentmindedly at his hair with a towel. "You have *no* idea how good it feels to be clean again." "Yeah, that ghost got you pretty good." Kylie remarked from her favourite roost. Eduardo smirked smugly at the comment. He was happy not to be the one on the receiving end of the sliming this time, and didn't want to jinx it. That and he knew if he was too vocal in his gloating, someone was libel to sic Slimer on him. However, he made a mistake in glancing back at Roland. "You and Ru-Paul!" He bust a gut laughing. Roland stopped in his tracks, comically freezing with the towel in mid scrub. "What?" Kylie looked up and dropped her book. "Roland..." "What?" "Your hair..." She had a strange look on her face, somewhere between pity and laughter. She quickly covered her mouth with her hands. "What?!" Roland asked again. A sudden bright flash distracted them. "Perfect!" Garrett exclaimed, holding a camera. "Snap Shot! Take your picture, Snap Shot!" He chanted in a sing song tone as he quickly wheeled away. "What?! GARRETT!" Roland called, thoroughly confused. "Mi-mirror!" Eduardo hiccupped from the sofa, trying hard to control his laughter and failing miserably. Roland turned and rushed off toward the bathroom as fast as he could. Kylie uncovered her mouth and began to slowly count down in a small, choked voice. "Three... two... one..." "AAAHHHHHHH!!!!! I'M BLOND!?!" Came the cry from the bathroom. Eduardo turned toward Kylie and conversationally remarked between hiccups; "I thinks he looks good as a blonde. What about you?" She hit him with a pillow. Round 3A knock on the door disturbed the unusually peaceful tranquility of the Firehouse. Curious, and hoping for a bit of action, Garrett looked down from the second story window to see who it was. It was a man, well dressed and totally calm. Not the usual customer type. More like a... salesman. "Hey, Slimer!" He called, grinning. Maybe there would be a bit of action today after all. "There's a Girl Scout at the front door selling cookies." Slimer's joyful squeal echoed through the Firehouse as the spud made a bee line for the door. The guy barely had time to scream before he was swarmed and covered in green goo. He took off like a shot down the street, screaming his head off, papers flying behind him. Garrett snickered from his seat. What a yutz. Janine's sharp bellow cut through his amusement. "GARRETT!" He looked down. Janine was standing below him, hands her hips and an obviously displeased look on her face. It most likely had to do with the fact that she had a broad green strip of ooze covering her shirt, probably from Slimer's dash to the door. "Oops. Sorry, Janine." He apologised. He had unwittingly just broken one of the most sacred rules of Ghostbusting: Thou shalt not mess with the Janine. He moved back from the window sill. He had better start thinking of ways to get back on her good side... Round 4"Ugh." Kylie groaned she crawled out of the Ecto-1 after another exhausting bust. She was sore, she was tired and she was cranky. She paused, taking a sniff of her clothing. Ew. "I need to take a shower and do some laundry." She decided out loud. "I get it after you." Eduardo claimed as he fell on to the couch. "And Garrett, don't even *think* about going anywhere near the bathroom while I'm in there." She added with a growl. "Don't worry, Kylie. We'll keep an eye on him." Roland assured her. He was still a bit sore about having his hair dyed. "I'm deeply wounded by the implications of that *I* would do something to you in the shower." Garrett said innocently, hand over his heart. Kylie shared a smile with Roland. "Thanks." Roland merely waved her out, plopping down in the oversized chair next to the sofa. She walked over to her locker and pulled out her shampoo and towel that she had taken to storing in there before heading upstairs.
Garrett watched her go, hiding a smirk. He had an idea. Slimer floated over to check on them and he called the spook over. "You wanna help me help Kylie?" He asked Slimer once the spun was close enough for the others not to be able to over hear them. Slimer debated it for a moment, wondering what Garrett could be up to. "I'll give you part of my next sandwich." He goaded. Slimer gave up trying to figure it out and agreed. "Great." Garrett grinned. "Here's what I need you to do."
Kylie stepped out of the shower dripping wet and wrapped a towel around her. It felt good to be clean again. And it had put her in a good enough mood that she had left some hot water for Eduardo. Not much, but some. Humming under her breath, she dried herself and reached for her clothes to get dressed again. It was kind of a shame to have to get dressed back into her dirty clothes, but she hadn't been kidding when she said that she needed to do her laundry. Her clothes weren't where she had dropped them. Puzzled, she began to search the bathroom, wondering if she hadn't misplaced them. They were no where to be found in the good sized bathroom. She paused, thinking. She trusted Roland enough to know that he wouldn't let Garrett anywhere near the bathroom while she was here, not that he could get in with out attracting her notice. And Roland wouldn't come in here, neither would Egon and it was Janine's day off... which left... "EDUARDO!!!" If he thought that taking her clothes was gonna get him out of being chewed out, he had another thing coming. She wrapped the towel tighter around her and stormed out of the bathroom.
Garrett snickered quietly to himself in the basement as he shut the lid on the washer, Kylie's clothes inside along with some other assorted clothes. They'd eventually figure out that it was him behind the missing clothes sooner or later, probably after Eduardo had gotten his butt handed to him on a platter. But they couldn't get mad at him this time. After all, he was only being helpful and doing what she had said, right? Round 5"Everybody ready?" Roland whispered into his walkie talkie. "We have to time this just right or it won't work." "Yeah, yeah." Eduardo grumbled. "Lets just do it, okay?" "You nervous all of a sudden?" Kylie teased from her post. "Naw. I wanna hear the sucker scream. He's had this coming for a while." Eduardo grinned, leaning nonchalantly against the wall at his position. Roland snickered, putting a hand out on the lever next to him. "All right then. On the count of three." "Three!" In unison, the the Ghostbusters flushed all the toilets in the firehouse and turned on the washing machine. Garrett's scream reverberated through out the building, scaring the people outside as the water suddenly became scalding hot in the shower. "Mission successful!" Kylie grin was evident over the speaker. "However, I suggest we find hiding holes to lay low in *before* he gets out of there." "I second the motion." Roland quickly agreed. Eduardo was barely understandable over the pounding of his own footsteps as he ran to find a good hiding place. "Motion passed, meeting adjured, now move it people!" Fin |
