Disclaimer: I don't drink coffee. Can't stand the stuff or what it does to ya. I drink tea. Earl Grey (lukewarm, with milk) if I need the caffeine. But some people like it. And they seem to act a little funny if they don't get it. Or do get it in some cases. This is for them. Don't own anybody, slavery is illegal, nobody knows I'm doing this except for the voices and it's totally without permission cuz they'd have to know if they gave permission. And since I’m not making any money, I'm afraid you'll have to buy your own coffee. Sorry.

A Pot of Coffee

By Icka! M. Chif

"Cof-fee..." Kylie watched as Eduardo almost literally pulled himself through the kitchen toward the coffeepot, dragging his schoolbooks behind him. He kept his attention on the brown liquid in side, almost like he was afraid it would disappear like a mirage if his attention was taken away for an instant. "Caffeine good..."

"Long day at the salt mines, Eduardo?" Kylie smirked as Eduardo poured himself a cup.

He said nothing, merely glared sullenly at her as he poured in most of a jar of sugar. She hid a giggle. It wasn't quite far of her to make fun of him when he was so out of it. But it was a lot of fun.

Eduardo stirred the coffee a bit, then took a sip of the steaming dark liquid. Kylie almost laughed as he fought the reflex to gag it back up, looking like he'd just swallowed Slimer's remains. He grabbed the jar of sugar and poured the rest of it in.

"I probably should have warned you that Egon made that batch." She giggled as Eduardo downed the cup in one gulp.

He grimaced. "Now you tell me. Tastes like decaf." He groused, throwing the mug in the sink with the rest of the dishes to be washed. He then sat down at the table across from her and pulled his books out of his pack and settled down to study. Or at least his version of the activity.

She swallowed another giggle and turned back to her book.

Several minutes later, her attention was jolted the story by a pencil snapping. A mechanical pencil.

She looked up to see Eduardo frantically scribbling down mathematical equations with a broken plastic Bic pencil. "Eduardo?" She questioned. Eduardo never did anything quickly, *especially* not homework.

"Got it, got it, almost dooone... There!" He slammed down the pencil triumphantly on the paper, grinning like a maniac. "Lemme see, lemme see... Ah, yes! English! 10 page report due in two weeks!"

With that, he pulled out several English books, a new notebook and a pen. He opened the notebook and started scribbling again. He paused for a second, and started flipping through the books hyperactively, then seem to find what he was looking for and wrote it down, muttering under his breath.

"Eduardo?" She questioned. Something was wrong here... very wrong. She'd never seen Eduardo act so hyper, not even the day after Halloween when he'd downed 4 packages of Pixie Sticks on a dare from Garrett.

"Almost done, almost done, hold on a second chica..." He muttered, his hand moving even faster as he turned the page in the notebook, the first one full. His other hand turned through the books at an accelerate pace, him glancing between the two. Kylie watched in amazement as he filled a second notebook page in just over a minute.

Eduardo didn't stop, just continued to write, picking up even more speed. He finished the next page in less time than that.

After the fourth page, he started to level out in writing speed, but the rest of him started to vibrate, as if burning off the energy that the writing couldn't.

Eduardo abruptly stopped writing, setting down his pencil which Kylie could have sworn was smoking. He looked up at her and grinned cheerfully. "All done! Hey, I know! Why don't we clean out Egon's lab?!"

He was gone and out the door before she could blink. "Hey! NO!" She scrambled to her feet and chased him up to the lab. "EDUARDO!!!!"

"Hey, Janine." Roland greeted the secretary and serrate mother as he and Garrett walked into the kitchen. "Where is everyone?"

"Egon's asleep, he's been up late working again and Kylie and Eduardo are around here somewhere." Janine reported putting the juice back in the fridge. "No calls so far, looks like it's gonna be a slow one."

"Yeah, that's what you always say just before a huge gooey bust." Garrett remarked, reaching for the coffeepot. He took a sniff of it and nearly gagged.

"That reminds me, don't drink the coffee. Egon was working on some hyper-accelerated stuff in there earlier." Janine said helpfully as he peered at the mix like he was waiting for it to sprout tentacles and carry him off. "I don't think I remembered to tell Kylie about it."

"I don't think you'd have to worry about it too much. You'd have to drink it half with sugar if the smell is any indication." Garrett assured her while making a face at it.

"Uh, Garrett?" Roland picked up the empty sugar container next to the coffeepot. "And isn't that Kylie and Eduardo's books over there?"

"Oh, boy."

"I think I heard them go upstairs." Janine said, looking a little worried.

"We'd better go che-" A cry followed by a large crash cut Roland off. With near identical expressions of horror on their faces, Roland, Janine and Garrett headed up stairs.

Janine and Roland got to the scene first. And what a scene it was. Egon's lab was some how filled with a strange pink gooey substance that coated everything, including the room's two inhabitants.

"I love you." Kylie purred, wrapping her arms around Eduardo with a sugary look on her face.

"I love you." Eduardo answered back, just as sugary as Kylie.

"I love *you*!"

"I loooove you!"

"I love you!"

Garrett looked at the intertwined slime coated couple, then down at the coffeepot he was still holding in his hand with a disgusted look. "I think I'm gonna be sick."
